Richard G. HudakRichard Hudak

Richard Hudak graduated from Harvard University in
1966 with a bachelor of arts degree. He later earned a
master of arts degree at the Inter American University
of Puerto Rico School of Law. He saw combat action
in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps, attaining the
rank of captain and receiving a Navy Commendation Medal.

In 1970, Mr. Hudak was appointed a special agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). During his eleven-year career with the FBI, he worked investigations in connection with violations of federal laws, background investigations regarding presidential appointments, and foreign counterespionage matters. He was assigned to the Special Weapons Attach Team in the San Juan Division - where he worked on airline anti-hijacking programs - and later to a surveillance team operating against terrorists in the Caribbean.

In 1981, Mr. Hudak left government employment. Fluent in the Spanish language, he was hired as an international consultant by Ackerman & Palumbo, Inc. in Miami, Florida and assigned to handle executive protection planning, threat assessment, kidnapping/extortion matters, and physical security assessments for Fortune 500 companies with international operations.

Mr. Hudak moved to Dallas, Texas in 1983 as the director of corporate security for MBank, a financial organization comprised of seventy banks and 12,000 employees with $22 billion in assets. Responsible for physical security, data security, executive protection, and investigations, he earned the respect of executive management as well as that of his colleagues in the banking industry. When MBank was bought out, he transitioned into training and conferences, successfully planning, organizing, and managing three record-setting international bank security conferences for the Bank Administration Institute (BAI) in Chicago, Illinois. As BAI's director of security programs, Mr. Hudak conducted the nation's first research on ATM crime (published in 1988).

Returning to security consulting in late 1988, Mr. Hudak worked for Trans World Airlines (TWA) on an innovative workers compensation fraud program and, in 1989, was contracted to manage site-security operations during the disaster recovery at First Interstate Bank of California (FIBC) following a high-rise fire at their downtown Los Angeles headquarters.

In 1990 Mr. Hudak was lured back into the corporate world by ITT Corporation, who appointed him director of worldwide security for Sheraton® Hotels & Resorts. Over a nine-year career, he established himself as an expert in hotel, resort, and casino security, earning a reputation for innovation, leadership, and vision in the hospitality industry. During his tenure he also wrote numerous articles on security for hotel journals throughout the world and provided insight regarding security issues at conferences and meetings throughout the United States and overseas in locations such as London, Rome, Amsterdam, Prague, Beijing, Hong Kong, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, Sidney, Buenos Aires, Bogota, Cancun, Caracas, Rio, Lima, Madrid, Casa Blanca, Cairo, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, and the United Arab Emirates.

In 2000, Mr. Hudak moved to Manhattan and began an eight-year stint as director of corporate safety and security for the Loews Corporation, a holding company for Loews Hotels; Bulova Corporation; CNA Insurance; Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc.; Lorillard Tobacco Company; Texas Gas Transmission, LLC; Gulf South Pipeline Company, LP; and executive security for the Tisch family of New York City.

In 2004, Resort Security Consulting, Inc. (RSC) was incorporated in Delray Beach, Florida in anticipation of Mr. Hudak's departure from Manhattan and the hectic schedule of his corporate responsibilities. RSC - an affiliate of RSI - received immediate attention from several nationally-recognized law firms, resulting in retainers for litigation support and security expert witness testimony. In addition, several international corporations sought RSC's services for the security expertise, advise, professional contacts, and industry respect for which Mr. Hudak and his associates are recognized.

Mr. Hudak is qualified to serve as an expert witness on security matters in U.S. district and state courts. He has also provided consulting to vendors of security equipment and software, resulting in the development of several new products. He has served in numerous focus groups, appeared as a guest on both radio and television programs, and is a frequent contributor to media publications, having been featured in the New York Times, on the cover of Security Magazine, and in Strafford Publications Inc.'s offerings (to name a few). Mr. Hudak currently serves on the board of advisors for I-OnAsia Ltd., Identity Theft 911, and PPM 2000 Inc.

In addition to his other activities, Mr. Hudak taught courses around contemporary issues in security management at John Jay College of Criminal Justice [a college within the City University of New York (CUNY)] and has lectured on hotel security management issues at the George Washington University (GW), New York University (NYU), and the École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) in Switzerland.

Mr. Hudak's professional objective is to establish a cost-effective, hospitality-sensitive approach for hotels, resorts, casinos, and recreational facilities throughout the world to safeguard guests and staff, protect assets, preserve reputation, and minimize liability.
